Why I was absent at AY’s show – Basketmouth

One of Nigeria’s leading comedians, Basketmouth, has responded to criticisms surrounding his absence at the latest edition of AY Live, noting that he couldn’t have been a part of the show since he was not scheduled to perform.
The comedian said: ‘I was not booked to appear at AY‘s show. My name was not publicized as one of those expected at the show. It is not about comedians being united; AY did his show and never mentioned that Basketmouth would perform, so why would people expect me to be there? It doesn’t make sense.’
Summing it all up that it is a ridiculous idea for people to expect him to show up even if he wasn’t billed for the show, Basketmouth said: ‘The way we think in this country is very funny. You go to the market to buy a Mercedes and hope to get a Rolls Royce engine, it is not possible.’
