After their 6-0 demolition of Australia, the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria thrashed world football power, Brazil 3-0 on the U-17 FIFA World cup on Sunday.
The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, thrashed Brazil 3-0 in the quarter-final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup on Sunday.
The Eaglets scored three goals in the space of five minutes to edge out the South Americans and qualify for their seventh U-17 World Cup semi-final.
After a frenetic start to the game, both teams failed to break the deadlock. But in the 29th minute, tournament leading scorer, Victor Osimhen, put the Eaglets ahead after heading in John Lazarus cross for his eighth goal..
One minute later, Kingsley Michael doubled the Eaglets lead off an assist from Osimhen. Then in the 34th minute, Udochukwu Anumudu made it 3-0 when he unleashed a long range shot which flew past the Brazilian goalkeeper.
In the second half, the Brazilians came out with the hope of getting something out of the game but couldn’t break down the Eaglets.
The Eaglets will now wait for the winner between Ecuador and Mexico in the semi-final which comes up on Thursday.
