President Buhari Reportedly Set To Sack CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele

According to Yes! international, Emefiele, the former Managing Director of Zenith Bank, allegedly got into President Muhammadu Buhari’s bad books following some shocking revelations linking him to the unfolding $2.2 billion Dasukigate.
Specifically, the erstwhile Director of Finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser, Shuaibu Salisu, alleged that under Emefiele, a whopping $47 million was taken out of CBN in 11 suitcases for onward transfer to the ex – NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki, rtd. Another N10 billion also allegedly left the CBN vaults with his knowledge and handed to People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to prosecute some of their elections.

The other story that is equally said to be working against Emefiele was his invitation to respected businessmen, Tony Elumelu and Jim Ovia, to one of the earliest meetings Buhari held with the international community in London. The two men’s presence at the meeting didn’t quite jell with the President and he reportedly made this known to Emefiele.
We learnt that some names have already been pencilled down to replace him. However, the coast will become clearer between now and the first quarter of 2016.
Born on August 4, 1961, Emefiele, from Delta State, became CBN Governor on June 3, 2014. He read Banking & Accounting and used to be a lecturer before going into full time banking.
